You know when you just want to paint something, anything, perhaps because you want to experiment with a particular colourscheme or technique or perhaps you simply want to paint for painting's sake? Yeah. That was me this morning. And thus we confirm, as is continously established in my sketchbooks, that my default thing to draw whenever I just draw without a plan or particular cause is ... skulls. Preferable also long hair, antlers, flower wreaths and bony hands.
Something for the antler critter-verse, perhaps. Watercolours, A5-ish.
From the vague inner area of the skull, it could be a helmet/mask, with the wearer lurking behind it. Trying their damnedest not to be seem by the eyes staring upon the image. Or, kookier case, it could even be a damned or vengeful spirit of someone whom might have passed. Thus, they altered their own skull to strike fear/terror into those whom wronged that spirit when it was a purpose. Or, even better, I could just comment on your actual artwork ITSELF, as opposed to trying to expand the basis/storyline of it.
The creation of this is fantastic. The subtle uses of brown shades here is fantastic. Virtually all the colors in there has a connection with brown, save for the flowers featured in the hair. Everything else is just a different tone of natures favorite wooden color. The elongated fingers showcases some sort of deformity, be it a natural one or a wanted/created/wished for one. It gives a dreading chill to the presence featured here. The damn fangs add more fright to the pot that you simmered on, here. It is great work. The housing of the hair stretching as far down as it is, seriously, adds depth to the character. The featuring of the skull of a pet, minions or child in the lower right corner let's it show that it is one of three things: a.) Demanding ruler; b.) A powerful possessor; or, c.) A caring mother. It stretches that vastly. Excellent work, my friend.

Fav'd, as you should know.
