Running wild and free where you belong - a way to achieve peace and harmony in your soul.

This is a piece of giftart for a really good friend who's also a young and VERY talanted artist: *Khangaki. <3 *hugcuddles* I've been wanting to do something for you for ages (especually since I said I was gonna do you some giftart and send it too you with the velour paper, but then realized I didn't had time to and I didn't wanted you to wait for the papers for too long so all I did was a little watercolour doodle while I actually planned to do something bigger and better xD)

I really really loved working on this. :D I wasn't aiming for loads of detail - I was trying to capture the feeling the photo I used as reference gave me, and the light and the motion and the body-structure of the tiger. Compared to some other works of mine, this doesn't have a lot of fur detail, but there's enough (it would be rather messy if I added more anyway, beeing a full-body shot and all) :3 And I am simply incredibly happy with how it turned out! It looks just excatly as I wanted it to look. I hope you like it as much as I do, Khagi! <3

I used a photoreference for this (since I can't draw a tiger by heart to save my life xD). The program used to do it was Photoshop Elements 3.0, and I used a wacom tablet. I am not sure of how long it took, around 5-8 hours maybe? wild guess xD It was also drawn MUCH bigger than this then rezised. And YES, the background is SUPPOSED to be all blurry and stuff. xD

WOAH. This is simply AMAZING Wursu.
When I first saw this, it took me a moment to realise it wasnt a photograph.

You did an awesome job on the tiger, especially considering how impossibly thery are to draw o__o
I love how you added all the little details, even the snow being kicked up.
You're backgrounds are amazing <33

nice O_o youve alwars been awesome on doing fur hmmm now im intrested any sugestions on how to do it? diserves a fav from me you putting alot of nice work into this one ^_^

oh and as for sugestions on how to do things im more instrested cuase im working on this thingy here [link] and id like to get a tip or two so i can maybe improve in it

I don't really have a certain way to do fur, it varies from piece to piece. My advice both for fur in general and for that WIP is simply to experiment a lot and come up with tecniques you like yourself, maybe look at some tutorials, but personally I think the best way to develop a personal style/tecnique is to experiment and come up with tecniques yourself ^^

yeah been trying to develop a sense just wondering what sort of method you used on this one since im trying to go for a painting portait esque feeling
