As part of my studies I've been doing a 10-week internship at one of the local museums' archeological magazines, mainly helping Gentleshade to re-pack and organize organic viking age materials such as wood, leather, textiles, et cetera. As my time there is drawing to a close, this is my gift of thanks to her. I've been learning a lot, it's been as interesting as it's been fun, and I've gotten to know a bunch of lovely people. Thank you.
In composition and content this painting is a sort of companion piece to Light the way - but the antler critter is older. Still as lonely, though...
Mostly watercolours, with some white goache and Derwent Drawing pencils.

Beautiful, and what an interesting tree!
I really love how you've done the sky, and the wistful gaze in your creatures eyes!
Gorgeous. I love the colour choices and the sky. Wonderful character, too!
Beautiful work. Very well done.
Very little expression, but you can tell there's wonder in those eyes by body language alone.
Beautiful painting! The creature is really cool too
That's gorgeous, I like the colors and the idea
